Don’t Mess!
Moby Duck presents
Every self-respecting stepmother has always
preferred heart, lungs and liver to Whole Live
Stepdaughter since folktales began - and Ratna's
no exception. This time, though, the ancient
gods don’t agree - and when those gods decide to
take action, it’s time to get very, very
scared...
Moby Duck’s latest show for older children
blends two ancient Indian stories with the much
younger Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and The
Winter’s Tale from the West. Storytelling, South
Asian dance, live Eastern and Western music,
wild digitally generated projections and
haunting, evocative mask/puppets swirl together
in the company’s unique performance style. Miss
it if you dare!

Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham
Aly
Bain and Phil Cunningham are two of the
best-known and most significant performers in
Scottish traditional music today. Stylish
Shetland fiddler Aly Bain, founder member of
Boys of the Lough, is acknowledged as one of the
instrument's leading players, while accordionist
Phil Cunningham, the man who possesses "the
fastest, most sensitive fingers you're ever
likely to hear", is hugely respected as a
musician, producer and broadcaster. With a broad
musical range, extending from slow airs to
full-throttle Scottish reels and dance tunes,
Phil and Aly are a musical tour de force - a duo
where one plus one seems to add up to so much
more than two.
