A thought-provoking exhibition of textile art
by six contemporary male artists.
Come and experience the work of six male
artists, Michael Brennand-Wood, Gavin Fry,
Matthew Harris, James Hunting, Colin Jenkins and
Kazuhito Takadoi. For all these men, working
with textiles is integral to their art, and each
uses very different processes and techniques,
highlighting the diversity and complexity of
contemporary textile art.

Altered States: where science
meets art
The Lauriston Gallery
Altered States seeks to uncover the ways in
which contemporary artists have been inspired by
historical, current and future developments in
bio-medical research and the impact science has
had and is having on cultural and human
endeavour.
Featuring a range of artistic practice
including installation and wall based work;
artists will explore the importance of cultural
references such as Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’
to current concerns regarding genetics,
medicine, reproduction, anatomy, mortality and
longevity.
There will be a series of related events and
talks taking place during November and December.
This exhibition has been organised to
